That’s right. Rogue Architecture is looking for its first Intern Architect. Back in November we posted that we were actively seeking a partner, a new Rogue Architect, and that search is still ongoing. But we are looking to grow in other ways as well. And the best way for us to do that is to hire an intern. Now, before you get too excited and smash the send button on your resume and portfolio, let me tell you a little bit about who we are looking for because we’re picky.
First, the technical stuff. An ideal candidate must possess either a professional bachelor or masters degree in Architecture and should have 1-3 years experience in professional practice and be actively working towards licensure. They should also be proficient with Mac based hardware and software, including Vectorworks Architect (BIM) and Renderworks. This is not a Revit office. We’ll never be a Revit office. If you like Revit, this is probably not the firm for you. Can you tell we really don’t like Revit? In addition to digital based proficiencies, our ideal candidate should also have a functional knowledge of construction detailing and hand drafting. Yes, we still use our hands for more than typing and clicking buttons in this office.
Now, for the less technical stuff. (See, I told you we’re picky.) An ideal candidate for this office needs to have a passion for architecture. We don’t just draw buildings here. We are Architects and we practice Architecture. We talk about Architecture. We tweet about Architecture. We share Architecture on Facebook (usually when we should be drawing buildings, but that’s beside the point). We are those creepy people you see on sidewalks in big cities starring up at buildings, touching columns, and marveling at the detailing of large door hinges. We’re weird. Our interns should be weird too.
Last, legal stuff. Rogue Architecture is an equal opportunity employer and we do not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. So if you have the above qualifications and want to work in a small firm where you’ll be exposed to every facet of the business and practice of architecture, then send in your resume and portfolio HERE and we will be in touch. We do prefer local applicants within the State of Arkansas as physical, in person interviews are necessary.
